I had the house open all day. Didn't get much done, it is Sunday after all. Tomorrow is another day.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I need to get some seeds in the pots and get that going. Hopefully the garden spot will get plowed before too long.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> My 2 roosters decided to go at each other yesterday. Funny thing is, Preacher got out of his pen, and proceeded to bloody up Big Boy pretty good, and all thru the pen that Big Boy is in and can't get out of. I wish I could have seen that. This morining they were just puffing up at each other and only just for a short time. I think I have 2 too many Roosters. Too bad I have named them. Oh well. Was that too many 2's in one sentence?
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I am once again going to try an experiment. I will be planting bean seeds using the Good Day, Bad Day signs of the Almanac. I tried last year and the heat was so bad and it was so dry, I didn't get one cucumber. I was very disapppointed. <span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> My SIL is the cub scout master and my daughter is a teacher for the Tigers and ????.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> They had burger n dogs with all the trimmings for dinner, and a really nice cake decorated with the Cub Scout emblem.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> The rain gutter boat races were the highlight of the evening. The boys had to build and decorate a sail boat from a kit, and were judged on design,uniqueness, etc. Then the race was on. <span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Most all the boys rec'd ribbons for various accomplishments, and I think everyone had a good time.
It was a surprise for him and it went great. His sister flew in from California and that floored him. He just "knew" she wouldn't be able to get off work or even afford to come. Gotcha!
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Daughter and son in law have been doing the Tour Guide thing. So far they haven't gone out of the county. They have til Monday afternoon to impress his sister but mostly his 15 yr old niece. She thinks Oklahoma is a bit small for her.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Gotta go now, I'm sure something is on TV that will prove more interesting than this bit of drivel.
Yea!!
I am officially done with chocolate. At least till Easter. The kids overloaded me this year. I overdid it too.
The 14th was also the SIL's birthday. Had a big supper and lemon cake and presents.
gave the kids their valentine's goodies and had a pleasant evening.
Well we got our winter storm Monday. It snowed and sleeted and fogged and it all melted away on Tuesday. Highs in the upper 50's yesterday and today. It did come a good soaking rain last nite and most of the day today. I really want to get excited about it being close to spring, but it is sooooo early for that. I just know we might have another ice storm or a blizzard. I do hope not, but this is Oklahoma.
I am getting ready to pot up some seeds pretty soon. I scored a bargain on some grow lites this past summer and almost have the mini green house set up. Just gotta find a new home for the snake. He is in the way at the moment.
That's about all there is to share tonite,
MMMM, so nice. Then I remembered I had places to go and things to do. I scarfed some coffee and headed out to town.

I hit Wally World first. I found canning jar rings and lids on sale, a pkg of 6 for a dollar. I got $20.00 worth. Not too shabby. They also had some beef at a reduced price. Yum.
Next up, went to the feed store for chicken feed, they were out as usual. Don't know why I bother, oh yeah, the chickens won't eat any other brand very well. They will have to suffer this week, so will egg production.

I ate lunch at my favorite Mexican place, and that was very enjoyable. The bank was my next stop. and I hit the dollar store and the grocery store. Homeland had quite a few bargains. Sugar was $1.99 a bag, boxed stuffing mix, .50 a box, and they had Lil Smokies Sausages 2 for 5.00. Not bad.

I had to take a round about to go get some mice for my snake. Then back into town for smokes and a visit to the resale shop. Found me a trench coat, kinda, for 3.00 and a 10 tray dehydrator for 10.00. Another "Not Bad". Finally got to head to the house.

Then I got to visit with the grand kids for awhile. We had Chinese for supper and watched cartoons til bedtime.

Got home and the dog was mad at me for leaving her behind today, and had strung trash all over kitchen floor. I forgot to lock it up, my bad. She is now sitting on the porch in the cold and rain. Gonna let her just sit there for awhile. She knows she has done wrong the minute I get home. All coward down, side long glances and the tail beating a hole in the carpet. Gotta love her. Not so much tonite.
TV is boring as all get out, and I didn't get anything productive done today.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I did make an appointment to get 3 new tires put on, for tomorrow. First, I will go have the oil changed, and then put the tires on. Well, not me, oh you all know what I mean. Then I may take a trip into the next biggest town West of here and check out a yarn shop. Doesn't that just sound sooooooooo exciting?

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> The kids took me along for the ride to see the Boat, Sport, and Travel Show, on Saturday. Most exciting thing there were 2 of the guys that are on Swamp Men. Joe and his stepson, for anyone out there that watches the show. I try to get caught up every once in awhile. I lived in Louisiana for a little while and really enjoyed the culture and the food and the people. Had a hell of a time trying to pronounce all them Cajun names tho. "First you make a roux.(sp)?
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">There must have been several million dollars worth of big boy toys at the show. Alot of lookers not many buyers. I really just cannot imagine living in some of those RV's or Boats. Can't imagine the fuel bills either. Whew. But they sure were pretty to look at.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> The chickens have been picking up on their laying. Out of 7 hens, I have 16 eggs for 3 days. Not bad, not bad at all. I just need to find someone who wants a dozen or so.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> For those of you interested, National Geographic Channel is showing, "Doomsday Preppers", at 9:00pm Eastern Time,Tuesday. This should be interesting.
Thank all of you for coming over to see me.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">First, I want to say that our Friend Stephen has been very ill. He is on the mend, thank God for that. Duke, I want to thank you again for keeping us updated on him.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I got laid off about 3 weeks ago. Things were so slow and the boss, bless him, tried everything to keep us all busy. There are only so many times we could sweep the floors. Hopefully it will pick up this spring.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I got invited on a day trip last weekend. My daughter, son in law, their 3 kids and a friend of the oldest grandson, went up into Kansas to see one of the largest digger tools there are. (I will think of the proper name for it in a minute). Any way it is Huge. I stood under this thing and had to bend backwards to see the top. It was used to dig coal, and when they finished the job, "Big Brutus" got left behind. It was built on site, and wasn't worth it to tear it down and relocate it. So now there is a museum and gift shop and some rather interesting old equipment to see.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> You can climb up into the Big Guy, but my knees won't let me do much climbing anymore. Everybody else went up and said it is so neat.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> After that adventure, we traveled on Historic Route 66 to Baxter Springs Kansas. We ate at a cafe called "Cafe on the Route". I had seen the place on Food Networks show called Diners,Drive ins and Dives. We all really enjoyed ourselves, and the food was really good too. I got the everything but.... burger. There was supposed to be 20 different goodies on it. I didn't count, but there was alot of stuff going on. Had to eat it with a fork almost.
<span style="color: #7f6000; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I did stay up to "watch" the ball drop. The neighbors shot off the fireworks and I made myself an iced hot toddy.

<span style="color: #7f6000; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Today is probably the last day I will get to spend with the grandgirl before she goes back to mommy. I have had her for 2 weeks and we have had so much fun doing nothing exciting. She is 5 and so sweet it makes my teeth hurt. Anyway we will only have to wait till the weekend and back to the regular schedule. Love that girl.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> My other 3 grands live across the wall of our duplex and I get to enjoy them everyday. The oldest I don't get to see so much of, and I miss him. Love that boy.The second is my biggest helper and lil friend. I see him every evening, he brings his reading homework over and I get to sign his work sheet. Love it. Now the littlest, she is a pistol. She is 2 and the DIVA. Whenever she hears or sees me, here she comes running, hollering NEE NEE!!! I get body slammed with the biggest hug she has. Love it too.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Did I mention I have a dog? Oh, I have a dog. She came to work before Thanksgiving, starved and just pitiful. All of us pitched in and started feeding her and loving her. The bosses son named her Shiloh. Today she is fat and sassy and has completely taken over one side of the couch and my heart. She may not like me so much after the vet visit, clipped n zipped. Shots and a manicure.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I could go on and on about her but the grands might not like it.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Equal time ya know.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> It has been a very nice 2 week vacation and I have to go back to work Tuesday. Ugh. No more sleeping in til 6. I don't know if I am ready for this. We are supposed to switch to a newer machine and I hate change. It won't be the same and I know I will have to throw at least 2 hissy fits before I resign myself to defeat.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I just hope we have the work to do. It has been terrible slow, and worrisome. Hopefully the world will stop watching the gloom and doom on TV and get on with life.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Y'all take care and don't forget to eat alot of blackeyed peas today!
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> The kids got me a new camera. They tried to fool me by having me open the memory chip and saying it was the one for my busted Kodak. Any way the next time it was my turn to open a gift, there was a brand new camera. It does more stuff than my computer! I love it. I was missing getting to take pics of the kiddos.
<span style="background-color: white; color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Our Christmas feast was very good. A lot of Southern style veggies, candied sweet potatoes, and turkey and ham. I got to fix most of it while everyone was in church. The pecan pie was delish, the pumpkin, I can live without, and the cheese cake was yummy. I did not get my peanut butter pie. I am going to make it for New Years Eve and a blackberry cobbler too.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Went to the Dr. for a check up and my A1C was a little high, so he switched me over to something else.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I started a regular schedule with all the pills he has me on. I think there are 10 pills and inhalers and nasal spray, I hate taking them. I feel outside myself and don't have very good balance sometimes. If it keeps up I will call him and see what he says.

<span style="background-color: white; color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I better get off here and do something productive.
The chimney has been dusted,the cookies have been baked, the sidewalk has been swept, and the dog has been tied up. Bring it Santa Baby!
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I still have a <strike>few</strike> lot more gifts to buy, bake, make, crochet, knit, and all have to be wrapped.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> There will be no tree this year, just the garland that has been up since last Christmas. I will plug the lites in, I promise kids. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> We will gather round the tiny miniature tree on the desk and sing carols like, "Grandma got run over by a reindeer", "Jingle Bells, Batman Smells", etc., and drink lukewarm instant cocoa with the rock hard mini mallows. Yum.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Christmas dinner might be corn dogs, mac n cheese, and fried taters. Hopefully there is enough ketchup to go around. <span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> Just kidding, we all here are happily waiting on the jolly ole fat man to make his appearance. My daughter and I have a 3 day dinner all planned, traditional foods, turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and the all important can of jellied cranberry sauce, and you know it has to be the can with the ridges. Oh wait, I just remembered seeing the can of Thanksgiving sauce still in daughters fridge, whew. There was only one slice gone from it too. I'm hoping for 5 different pies this year, pecan, pumpkin, peanut butter, pecan w/choc chips, and pecan.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">Pecan,(single nut,crushed really fine, and suggested over the pies) being the way it will have to be this year. Prices are sooooo high we had to resort to borrowing a few nuts from the neighborhood squirrel, she weren't happy bout it either.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I want to wish all of you a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I have had a nice week so far. My good friend who has been busy learning to be a registered nurse, got a week off and I was on her list of people to visit. Visit we did! I almost lost my voice from yakking all day. It was so much fun.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> My son and his friend came over for supper. Fortunately I had put a roast and fixins in the crock pot that morning. How do they know when you have something cooking?! Anyway, son's friend had us laughing all evening with his "adventure" stories.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> My granddaughter who is four, has been here visiting and I have had a ball with her. We have done everything there is to do, and some things we did twice. I will miss her when she has to go home.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I almost forgot, my other kid, (not related, but I have fed him enough times over the years to qualify him to be one of my "kids"), he brought me a beautiful Dominiker Rooster. My Copper Penny rooster, died recently and the boys found this at a farm where they do trades and such. My granddaughter has named him, Noonel. (Noodle). The hens think Noonel is soooo pretty.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">That is about all there is, so you all have a good day.
That just shows you how really boring my life is. I went back to work in April, had a machine I could get along with, and then the bottom fell out of the orders coming in. If we did get an order, there was so much product in the warehouse, there was no need to replenish. So here I am laid off again. Hopefully things will pick up soon.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> My youngest grandgirl turned One in Aug, she growing tooooo fast. So are her brothers and cousin. I am really enjoying being around on an almost daily basis.
<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;">I did get my chickens, six altogether. The rooster died tho. But we are getting a few eggs along. It is about time to start winterizing their pen.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> One of my kids had to move back in for awile. <span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> It has been and interesting year. I have been jobless for 7 months. I am surviving, just barely. In all this time I have not accomplished much. Job hunting is so unnerving for me. I don't do well with strangers. Oh well, life goes on.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> One good thing about being home is the grand kids. I have had a lot of fun with them.
We had some snow last weekend, and below freezing temps. The potted herbs had to come in and reside on the rug by the front door.

<span style="color: #783f04; font-family: "Trebuchet MS", sans-serif;"> I am going to give raising chickens a try again this summer. My dear son has agreed to help build a chicken pen. My sister is letting a few of her hens set some eggs and hopefully before too long I will have a box of "peeps" to add to the collection of pets.
